Quarterback – Ryan Clement

J.K. Mullen Prep – Denver, Colorado

Ryan was named the starter as a true freshman in 1990, leading the Mustangs to a number one ranking in the State, and leading Colorado in all passing categories. Ryan remained the Mustangs starter for every subsequent game until his final game as a senior in 1993, setting numerous Colorado passing records. He was named all-conference and all-state four consecutive years (1990-1993) and all-Colorado his Junior and Senior seasons (1992-1993). Ryan was a consensus All-American in 1993, tapped by Parade, Blue-Chip, Gatorade, Super-Prep, and Tom Lemming, to name a few, as one of the top-school boy Quarterbacks in the country.  Clements’ career in high school culminated in being awarded the Denver Post Gold Helmet for Colorado’s Outstanding Football-Player Scholar.

Ryan was offered a scholarship by every Division I school in the United States. He took official trips to Notre Dame, Florida, Miami, Tennessee, and Pitt, in addition to unofficial trips to Colorado and Wyoming. During the recruiting process Ryan, Peyton manning, Heinz Ward, and Josh Booty shared their trip experiences and compared notes on what coaches were saying and promising.
