Jason’s learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. He has interned at a renowned horse and cattle ranch, where he gained hands-on experience in ranch management and livestock care. Additionally, he completed an intense educational program through the Equine Lameness Prevention Organization’s Farrier School. Now apprenticing with one of Colorado’s top farriers, Jason is building his own farrier business, JMS Farrier, which focuses on hoof health and equine care.

Jason’s involvement with horses and cattle began at an early age. By nine years old, he was competing in National Cutting Horse Association events, where he earned accolades and financial earnings. His competitive spirit carried over into his college years as a team roper for Lamar Community College’s Rodeo Team. Beyond competing, Jason also trains his own horses for cutting, roping, and ranch-related events. Looking ahead, Jason envisions a future in ranching, where he will raise cattle and continue training horses, solidifying his lifelong passion and commitment to the western heritage.
