JMS Land & Livestock, LLC is more than a horse operation. It is a lifelong commitment to developing exceptional horses, preserving proven bloodlines, and building a program rooted in integrity, education, and hard work.

Founded by Jason Simmons, JMS Land & Livestock combines a unique blend of experience as a competitor, horseman, trainer, professional farrier, and agricultural professional. This diverse background provides a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to develop horses that are not only successful in the arena, but also remain sound, athletic, and dependable throughout their lives.

Jason’s journey in the horse industry began at nine years old while competing in the National Cutting Horse Association. That early passion for horses developed into a lifelong pursuit of excellence. Along the way, he earned the title of Colorado High School Cutting Champion and later competed as a team roper for the Lamar Community College Rodeo Team.

Jason graduated from Lamar Community College with degrees in Agricultural Business and Agricultural Production Management. His education includes Artificial Insemination, Live Animal and Carcass Evaluation, Agricultural Mechanics, Feeds and Feeding, and Welding. He is also certified in Artificial Insemination through Schleining Genetics, providing extensive knowledge in breeding management and reproductive health.

Today, Jason has established himself as a respected professional farrier serving clients throughout Colorado, Kansas, and Texas. Working with hundreds of horses each year has provided him with a unique understanding of equine anatomy, biomechanics, movement, balance, and long-term soundness.
